Our Detective Lives Chapter 10: The Opposite Twins


"Hello,L.Near.And you?"The man that looked exactly like L said,looking at me.Who was it?Was this Beyond or someone else?It made me wonder.I could feel myself shaking.I didn't know why.

L's POV:
I looked at Beyond.I couldn't believe he had found me.And while Ash was here."What are you doing here?"I asked my eyes never blinking or leaving him."I came to say well you know.Hi.But I see you have a guest."I glared and out of the corner of my eye saw Near glaring too.I could feel Ash shaking.Beyond smiled the same smile he had before.The smile he smiled after I questioned him about the murder cases back in L.A. and he had said he hadn't done it and left with that same evil grin.He wasn't staring at Near or me,but Ash.I got off the couch and went around.I stood in front of it,making sure that he couldn't get Ash.

Beyond's POV:
I saw L move in front of the girl,a pissed off look in his eyes.So that was his girlfriend.I smiled a wider smile."Well,L,I see your trying to hide her.Why?Are you scared I'm going to "hurt" her?"I said.L glared even more and said,"Don't act innocent.I know you will."I saw the girl he was hiding flinched.She was cute,even I had to admit it.I just needed to get past L.

Near's POV:
I glared as much as L.Beyond wanted Ash.But I knew L and I wouldn't let him touch her.I got up and went over and stood next to L.Beyond frowned now."Near."He said."Beyond."I looked back at Ash.She had fear in her eyes.I looked up at L and Beyond.They looked as if they were having a staring contest."So,Near,your living with him now?"Beyond said pointing at L.I nodded.Beyond smirked and said,"I'm guessing no one wanted to adopt a freak who eats his toys and wears only his pajamas all the time?"He said laughing.Nothing he said was true but it still hurt.I growled and was about to run forward and fight him but L grabbed my shoulder and shook his head."Don't Near."I glared at him but knew he was right.So I ignored what Beyond had said.

Ash's POV:
I could tell Near was pissed.I would be too so I couldn't blame him.I watched as L and Beyond never left eye contact.Then Beyond said,"You know it wasn't me,L."I wondered what he meant.Then L said,"I have enough proof to prove it was."What were they talking about?Near then said,"You know you did it.I wouldn't deny it."I then saw Beyond take a step towards Near.But Near didn't flinch or move.I think Beyond thought better of it because he stopped and turned around and headed to the door.Mello and Matt were standing there,watching the whole scene.Before Beyond walked out he stopped and turned around and said,"Just remember that I'll be back."He then walked out and left.Matt shut the door and came over to all of us.L and Near sat down on both sides of me."Sorry you had to see that."L apoligized."Yeah sorry."Near added.I knew now would be a good time to ask what was going on."So what were you guys all talking about?What happened that Beyond is denying?"L and Near looked at each other then at me."I think it would be best to tell you."Near nodded.L then said,"It start's out like this..."
